Bristol based experienced CAMHS practitioner – therapy for children and adolescents

Bristol based experienced CAMHS practitioner – therapy for children and adolescents

I’m a CAMHS therapist with 10 (and a half!) years experience. Marketing not being my strong point, I haven’t particularly promoted this through my business. I will be setting up a new CAMHS specific page soon, but just wanted to highlight this. I continue to work part time in the NHS, providing support such as assessment of children and young people’s mental health needs, recommending treatment plans, liaising with the network/team around the child, risk assessment and management, and offering specific therapeutic input, such as EMDR and CBT. A short piece of therapeutic work with me, through Mindscape, may be helpful in providing prompt access to skilled, responsive help for your child, and reduce the risk of ongoing distress or future difficulties. I also work for local authorities, through the Adoption Support Fund, providing therapeutic input, mainly EMDR. Please contact me if you would like to know more. EMDR is now recommended by NICE as a second line treatment for children and young people, and has long been recommended by the WHO as a first line treatment with this client group.

10% discount for all NHS staff on therapy in Bristol

10% discount for all NHS staff on therapy in Bristol

I am now offering a 10% discount to all NHS employees (rather than the two tier, complicated system that gave people in different Trusts different discounts). In the face of criticism and lack of funding, NHS staff are doing a great job – I have many extremely hardworking and dedicated colleagues. This is a small way in which I can give something back. Stress and difficult incidents often cause people to seek therapy, such as EMDR, which is evidence based for trauma, as well as hypnotherapy – I see lots of NHS staff who are struggling with stress and eating, often impacted on by night shifts and pressure of work. I know the therapies I offer can make a difference, effectively and rapidly, so please contact me if you would like any further information.

More Training!

More Training!

I’ve had a busy year of it with training, as I’m always looking to improve upon my skill set.
I’ve completed classroom training for BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT) – this seems like a good technique for quickly resolving simple issues such as upsetting events, phobias and habits.
I’ve also completed Flash Technique training – this is an adjunct technique to EMDR and is proving to be really powerful. It can resolve some issues in itself, and is really helpful for people who dissociate, as it involves going near the trauma a lot less.
I’ve also covered the EMDR R-TEP protocol, for recent events.
Now on to Sensory Attachment Intervention update/report writing later this week!

Summer’s (nearly) here!

Summer’s (nearly) here!

It’s Sunday 13th May and it’s sunny out. Even though I’m inside it still makes me feel so much happier when there’s sun; it definitely lifts my mood, and this is my favourite time of year. It feels like a time where I have more energy, get motivated and get things done! If you need any support to make changes in your life (whether weight loss for a holiday or tackling trauma), please do contact me.

Data Protection

Data Protection

As many of you will know, from 25th May new data protection laws come into effect. As well as governing best practice relating to data gathering and storage, it also now means companies and charities need to confirm you wish to continue to be contacted by them. If you would like to stay in touch with me and let me know of any updates, you can contact me by email or phone, or on Facebook – @MindscapeTherapies.
